Arche conducted a comprehensive techno-economic assessment to evaluate the feasibility of converting the exhausted coal mine into a profitable 1,000MW pumped hydro and export facility. This included developing a financial model for hydrogen production and undertaking concept and prefeasibility studies to assess the project’s viability.
To support the analysis, Arche assembled and coordinated multidisciplinary study teams across key technical and regulatory domains. These included specialists in geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, dam engineering, hydraulics, hydrology, electrical and mechanical systems, civil engineering, OEMs, environmental impact, and cultural heritage.
