Project Management and Owner’s Engineering

Effective Project Management requires detailed planning, well defined projects, robust contracts and excellent project controls systems.

Arche’s team includes some very experienced project directors, project managers, project controllers and Project Engineers.

We project project management services and owners’ engineering services as part of our integrated project delivery model.

Owner’s engineering

An owner’s engineer represents the interests of the owner of an infrastructure project. They act as the Owner’s Representative providing technical expertise, independent inspections and act as the Contract Superintendent.

Arche Energy holds decades of Owner’s Engineering experience.

An owner’s engineer provides support on:
Feasibility studies, assessing project risks, and providing input during the planning and development phase
Design review to ensure compliance with the owner’s standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements
Procurement including writing and releasing tenders, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with contractors, suppliers and consultants
Supervising the progress of the project, conducting site inspections, reviewing progress reports, and resolving any technical issues or conflicts that arise during construction
Quality assurance and control, ensuring proper testing and inspection procedures are followed, and that the delivered project meets quality standards
Identifying and mitigating project risks, assessing the impact of potential risks on project outcomes, and proposing strategies to manage or minimise them
Liaising between the owner and various stakeholders, including contractors, regulatory bodies, local authorities, affected landowners and local communities, facilitating communication and coordination among all parties.

Project management

A project manager takes on a broader scope of responsibilities than an owner’s engineer, including overall project management, team management, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, integration of project activities, and reporting.

Project managers are responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the project, leading and managing the project team, ensuring effective collaboration, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and resolving conflicts.

A project manager is responsible for:
Budgeting, cost control, allocating resources, and scheduling project activities
Identifying and assessing project risks, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring them
Communication and reporting, facilitating communication among stakeholders, preparing progress reports, and regularly updating the owner and stakeholders
Scope management, ensuring that all project activities are integrated, aligned with the scope, and delivered in line with quality requirements, legislation and project goals

Why choose Arche

From a one-day commercial risk review to a complete project delivery service, Arche is your best choice.

When we are engaged as project manager or owner’s engineer, we work collaboratively with the owner’s team, providing expert advice on engineering, planning, finance, cost control, scheduling, commercial reviews, managing teams and consultants, managing client expectations and communication, knowledge of the legislative context, and managing communications with communities and other stakeholders.

Arche Energy’s Project Services Team is led by Peter Bradnam. Peter is a commercial executive, project manager and mechanical engineer with a 20-year track record on large infrastructure projects. His team brings our clients the full suite of project management skills, leadership and experience, having led commercial tenders and negotiations of large and small contracts for EPC, EPCM, construct only, design only and services delivery on behalf of owners and contractors.

Balancing commercial risks and negotiating better contracts

Our clients trust us to negotiate better contracts for them. We provide valued clients with regular commercial reviews for civil works contracts, working with your legal team to contribute an essential commercial risk perspective to the negotiation of construction and other contracts.

Arche offers strategic studies to answer specific questions, analyse risks, develop strategies or to provide advice. We typically deliver studies for fixed prices and scopes of work. Third party reliance for due diligence work is available, subject to insurer endorsement.

For the right project role, Arche offers secondments into project or owners’ teams. Our consultants integrate into project teams to flexibly satisfy your short‑term or intermittent requirements.
