Arche Energy completed a study on the viability of a combined solar farm and battery farm for a site in Victoria. We identified a suitable layout, provided resource estimates and an optimised battery–solar farm configuration.
Having a solar farm and a battery farm on one site means that energy can be generated and stored in one location, which means no energy is lost in transit.
Co-locating generation and storage also enables electricity loads to be balanced by storing power during periods of low demand like mild temperature days. It also creates firming generation to ensure enough energy is always available no matter the weather or power disruptions.
