Kathleen Valley Lithium Project

Arche Energy supported ATEC Solutions to provide due diligence and strategic advice to Liontown Resources on evaluated power supply options for the Kathleen Valley Lithium Mine Project.

The mine site is on Tjiwarl land, which is managed and cared for by the Tjiwarl Native Title Holders, who have lived and worked there for hundreds of thousands of years.

One of the world’s largest and highest-grade hard rock lithium mines, it is 60km north of Leinster and 680km north-east of Perth, Western Australia.

The mine is expected to initially produce 2.5Mtpa of production capacity and supply roughly 500,000 tonnes of 6% lithium oxide concentrate per year.

Liontown Resources’ goal was for the project to meet an ambitious target of 60% renewable grid power supply from start-up in mid-2024. Their ultimate solution was using a combination of solar, wind, BESS and LNG off-grid power supply.
