Tritton Copper Operations Energy Supply Study

The Tritton Copper Operations is a long-life copper operation on the land of the Ngemba/Ngiyampaa, Wangaaypuwan and Wayilwan people; and is near the towns of Nyngan and Cobar in central New South Wales.

Commencing production in 2005, it features an underground mining complex, which feeds 1.8 million tonne per annum through a conventional processing plant.

Since modern exploration commenced at the site in the 1980s, over 750,000 tonnes of copper have been discovered.

Tritton mine is a local community focussed mining operation investing in education and career pathways for local residents.

Our involvement in Tritton Copper Operations

Aeris Resources requested Arche explore power generation options at a concept level for its Tritton and Murrawombie sites.

Arche Energy provided a study to:

  • reduce the Tritton Copper Operation’s cost of electricity
  • reduce its carbon intensity
  • potentially eliminate the requirement for a transmission upgrade.

Our team analysed different combinations of power supply that consisted of grid connections, battery systems, diesel, solar and wind.

Arche also recommended Tritton Copper Operations a selection of desirable layouts for these options. The Arche team develops innovative energy solutions which we expertly apply to mining operations with the goal of improving both efficiency and sustainability.
