Isaac Power Station

QPM Energy’s Isaac Power Station project would provide up to 300MW of gas generation to be located at an existing site at Moranbah in Central Queensland.

The generators would be powered with low-spec coal seam gas, significantly reducing operating costs.

Arche worked with QPM Energy from 2023 to early 2026 as Owner’s Engineer, providing ongoing project development services and project management.

These services included:

  • siting study
  • technical advisory
  • managing development and environmental approvals
  • grid connection process
  • EPC contractor selection
  • management of Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)
  • generation equipment procurement
  • development of project execution strategies
  • crucial elements of the feasibility study for gas turbine procurement and installation.

After an extensive siting study, we found a suitable area to locate the Isaac Power Station. We then completed a site layout concept design for different alternatives and provided specialist advice on the preferred and alternate technologies for the project.

“I must compliment you on the work you have done to date, stepping into the breach to keep the project moving forward.”

Barry Sanders, Project Director, Isaac Power Station, QPM Energy

Our team developed documentation for, managed, and completed tender processes for OEMs and the ECI process, and developed CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates to inform financial investment. We delivered HV connection studies and developed a transmission line route.
