Rugby Run solar farm is located near the town of Moranbah, Queensland and features 247,000 solar panels which generate 185,000MWh of power each year. Adani Group officially opened the project in 2019 and it is part of their vision to create a truely sustainable energy mix.
The solar farm created 175 jobs at peak construction and sourced local contractors from regional Queensland.
Renew Economy ranked the solar farm as Australia’s second best performing solar farm in 2022.
Our involvement on Rugby Run solar farm
In a previous role, Andrew Murdoch, Arche’s CEO, was the General Manager responsible for the development of the Adani Renewables business in Australia.
Under Andrew’s guidance, the team developed the 65MW Solar Farm located southwest of Moranbah in Central Queensland.
Andrew was responsible for the project from its initial concept through the bulk of the Development Phase including:
- land acquisition
- development approval
- equipment selection
- network connections
- appointment of the ECI contractor.
