Attaqa Power Plant, Egypt

This project in Suez City was part of Egypt’s response to its power supply crisis, particularly during summer.

The project included construction of high priority gas-fired 640MW power plant with four simple cycle SGT 2000E Siemens gas turbines, which have high fuel flexibility and reliability, service-friendly design, and suitability across load ranges, particularly peak-load operation.

Arche Energy provide EPC including civil, electrical, mechanical, piping, structural, architectural, and engineering works; as well as advanced specialty areas of expertise: integrated automation processes, strategic sourcing, material management, contract management, logistics, and construction.

The EPC Phase was completed in 159 days — a world record for a power plant. Our people managed a complex team under very challenging conditions including compressed and non-negotiable project schedule, security concerns, and OHS concerns such as extreme heat and fatigue management.

They led a multi-national team of engineers, skilled and unskilled workers, all while managing time, budget and customer expectations.

The Port of Suez is in Egypt along the northern coastline of the Gulf of Suez. The port and city are the southern terminus of the Suez Canal that transits through Egypt and debouches into the Mediterranean Sea near Port Said.
